【Grammar Tip】

She was just born to sing!

Usually born means to come into the world by birth.
For example, I was born in New York City.

but when we say " born to do something"  // 強調某人與生俱來就有的才華
we're saying that person " has a natural ability to do something."

在今天的sentence: She was just born to sing.
It's just means "She just has a natural ability to sing."

ex:
1. Water spaniels are born to swim.

2. John was born to run.

3. John is the obvious choice for class president. He was born to lead.

4. Mike is so tall that it seems like he was born to play basketball.

在美國如果你去看職業球賽，在球賽開始時，會有人演奏或演唱 the national anthem (國歌)
這是早在二次世界大戰就開始的一個傳統
唱國歌能讓人民有歸屬感，也能讓人們表達他們的 patriotism (愛國情操)

audition (v) (為了某個角色)試鏡
若要說明是哪個角色要用 for
Tim auditioned for the role of a teacher in the movie.
提姆試鏡要飾演電影中老師的角色。

amaze (v) 大為驚奇或讚嘆
The boy's excellent memory of numbers amazes us.
這個男孩對數字優異的記憶力讓我們感到驚訝。

It amazes me how much creativity this artist has.
這位藝術家的無窮創意讓我大為驚嘆。

amaze 也常用被動語態
The audience was amazed by the circus performance.
馬戲團的表演讓觀眾們驚嘆。
